Good morning! We purchased a midsize mini Jersey heifer earlier this spring. We are thrilled with her! She turned 13 months this month. She is measuring 720 pounds using the weight tape, and she's having VERY strong heats. We would like to breed her this month. Thoughts? Too young, or is she ok because of her weight...? Thank you for your insight!

I've always aimed for my heifers' first breeding at 14 months so it seems like, yes, you should breed her. She's a beauty!

Perfect. Thank you! Will keep you updated on our journey. She is a wonderful, sweet mannered heifer. We adore her. She's a bit crazy when in heat, so that's another reason why we are anxious to breed her.

Oh My Goodness,

Isn't she just a doll!!! That picture is priceless.
Best of luck to you and hoping for a successful breeding.
