Well, the weathervane is up. Small but it made me smile. The carpenters are pretty much done. So I feel as if the weathervane is the christening of the milk parlor. (although the plumber still have to finish up). They are currently swamped. But I don't need the heated floor right now, just hot/cold water hooked up. A few photos. The sliding barn door to the feed room. Made out of rough lumber. looking back at stanchion and where my roll cabinet will be storing my milk machine when not in use. I'm looking at stainless steel steam pans to put in the feeding stanchion area. Don't know if I can find them large enough but will look into it. Then I can remove to clean. And the utility room.

It is indeed a christening. But then again, it might be that beautiful rough-hewn sliding barn door. I wish it were me moving in. How very exciting, Janet!

I'm smiling, too.

smiling in east texas. just gorgeous. and yes, it is the christening of the barn.. or anything!

i have been looking at weathervanes for the kids playset. ideas all over the place, there are so many that i want. then i decided that i'd just put a cow weathervane on the barn, a chicken weathervane on the coop, something floral on the future greenhouse, and something silly and whimsical on the kids playset... so it will take years to accomplish, but is definetly the christening.

Thank you! Well, all that's left is getting things moved down and a few personal touches and cows. I'm hoping they will get the water hooked up and turned on soon. Joe and I need to put up a wood fence yet on the west side of the barn. It will be fun to do that as a family Cindy, putting weathervanes on the chicken coop, barn and the play set.

Such a fun thing to see the weathervane go up! I felt the same way when we built the first barn ... It just completes it. I like your idea, Cindy, in putting different weathervanes over different buildings! It lets a person have more than one favorite weather vane! Perfect!

Oh, and I absolutely love the sliding barn doors. I want some of those inside my home! Not just for barns, any more!

Thank you Sydney, and Charlene. I'm pleased with it, I believe it will work but there will be some adjusting until we get used to it.
