I am Hugh Owens from Wilson. We have a 5 acre farm called Rendezvous Mountain Farm with a motley assortment of animals. primarily kunekune pigs and St Croix sheep. I am looking forward to getting back into cattle again and a resident milk cow. Having spent time on a dairy farm with Jerseys as a boy, it was natural to return to them. I live in one of Mary Jane's old stomping grounds when she was laying fence in the Gros Ventre Mountains decades ago. Mary Jane Butters has been a font of knowledge and her attention to detail is astonishing and after I have picked her brain clean I hope to have the pick of one of her Jersey litters. This website is populated with women so I hope they will let me in to their sorority!

Good morning Hugh. Happy to see you've found your way here. No doubt you'll have some wintery stories to tell. If your cell phone takes photos, we love critters, especially your brand of pigs and sheep. Plus you live in one of the most beautiful spots on Earth. Happy to hear you're thinking about adding a milk cow to the mix.

Do you know if there's still a Forest Service guard station (historic log cabin) near the end of the trail in the Gros Ventre? It would be miles and miles back in.

A late hello this morning but Welcome Hugh. So pleased to meet you and anxious to hear all about your assortment of animals. Yes, a future Jersey milk cow. You and MaryJane will no doubt have much to visit about being familiar with the same area. Beautiful country indeed. We need more men folk. So happy to have you join us.

Good Morning Hugho,

So wonderful to meet you and here about your farm. I love the name of it.
Yes we welcome men with open arms, and they are on here, it's just the women are a bit more chatty!!

I have learned so much from the "HJO Family" as I like to call us. So much information posted from all. I sit and read for hours at a time. I raise Dorper sheep, and just came home with my first Jersey girl two weeks ago that I bought from MaryJane. I must tell you, Lacy Lou is a love and it shows not just from the breed she is but the care and handling from MaryJane prior to me getting her.

Again, a Great Big Welcome and so glad to have you here!!

Thanks Ladies and MJ. I always wanted to join a sorority and this could be my last chance. We have decided we need a proper barn before applying to the MJ Adoption Agency up in Moscow for a bovine companion.

Hello Hugh! It's nice to have things planned out before starting in. I'm glad we started out the way we did. Little at a time as I have come to appreciate the way we did things, as to the "new".... ? Yesterday was quite an awakening for me and I'm hoping things work out. And I'm sure they will eventually. So, even your plans and steps on the way of "proper barn" and the adventure to get there, and your dream cow, will all be great and welcome to hear.
