Some friends wanted to come watch us milk. Even though we're not quite set up for it yet, we said to come ahead. The littlest girls both tried their hand at hand milking with my help. They were tickled. Milkmaids of the future perhaps? Nellie took it all in stride. Now to just get my side rail up.

How sweet! My grandgirls love to "help" me milk. After they're "finished" milking by hand, I put the machine on. And every year we have grade school classes out so each of the kids can try their hand at milking. Look what spending time at my uncle's dairy farm when I was that age created--future milkmaids for sure!
