Well, Nellie had a bull calf Mon. night. 11:52p.m. It was quite an ordeal and I'm still recovering as I'm sure Nellie is too. Too long a story to write but I realize now I don't have the hand and arm strength needed to get Nellie milked completely. So I am looking for information on Milkers/milk machine. Just for one cow, two perhaps if I decide to milk Sienna. If anyone has good idea or suggestion please lmk. Much appreciated. Neighbor has been kind enough to milk her good otherwise I think I would run into trouble with mastitis not getting all the colostrum/milk removed. Thank you.

Info here on this thread: https://www.heritagejersey.org/chatroom/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=133
Also, if you have my book (I think you said you do), there's quite a bit about the NuPulse milker in there and where to buy one, etc. plus photos.

Thank you for the information. I may purchase an Ultimate EZ Milker from the information I read from the link you gave me. I hope to get stronger and keep hand milking but this will surely do the trick to make sure I'm getting all the milk from her quarters. Thank you again. This site is invaluable for all the help and information.

Yes, after using it several times now, I do like it. I'm still only using one teat/bottle at a time. Perhaps when I get a bit more confident I will try using two. I'm still hand milking the last bit out of each teat. I'm using a 13 quart bucket and it's 3/4 full when I finish milking. Of course Pumpkin Moonshine's milk for his bottle comes out of that, but there is still plenty left over. It's easy to clean and I do this after each milking so that it's ready to go to the barn with the next milking. I've been milking at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 in the evening. So far, so good!

I think I am at the point some might have come to before me, my reason for asking for help. My poor hand is not holding up well anymore with the milking, more so with this cow being Her teats are so large. I see above the information on some milk equipment. I purchase a machine from Canada called the EZ milker which uses a vacuum pump and hand crank but really does not do the trick. Any updates would be appreciated on something I can get. Thank you all.

I'm still using the Ultimate EZ milker and it doesn't have a hand pump. It does require electricity, you plug it in, the bottles are hooked up to a suction machine with hoses. I usually use one bottle at a time. Just slip it onto the teat, the bottle fills and you do this till the teat is empty, move on to the next. It's quite simple and it saves my wrists and hands. There is a video of the Ultimate EZ milker online and I think on You Tube also. You could check it out.

Thank you. I did dig around and found a you tube video on it. I am concerned if it will work on Harriet. Her 2 front teats are so huge. For a mid size cow She has a big bag and large teats. I think She could do 2 calfskin easy and still crank a few gallons a day. One reason I want to get a smaller cow. Just hate to waste milk.

If anyone is interested in the Australian options.... we use a Daveisway mobile milker. We chose it because it is made from the same parts used for commercial milking systems so we knew it would be good quality and easy to replace parts as required. We have had it 3 years with no problems. I thought it would take ages to wash it, but it is really quick and as neither of us had any experience with hand milking, I think it was a good option.

Check with http://www.partsdeptonline.com/ They offer a REALLY NICE mobile milking system for commercial dairies and dairy people to go to shows with their favorite milk cow. They have goat systems and cow systems, and even offer a 2 cow system! I have used their portable milking system with goats and it works awesome! It's a system designed to serve the DAIRY industry, not just hobby milkers.....
Here's the link to vacuum pumps,

There are a lot of cheap crap systems out there that make you think you have something and it won't hold up to the real world.....this system works!

Thank you for the information happyfarmwife. So far I'm very pleased with the Ultimate EZ milker. And now with two, (one extra just to have in case of whatever), I'm sure that will take care of anything I will have to milk, but it's nice to know there are other machines out there that do a great job.
