Good morning Ron. Good morning Elaine. I'm sure it's been an overwhelming time for you, it will be nice to get back to the farm and the familiar. Hope your next move goes okay for you. Lots going on for you folks but thinking of you. Milk buckets are overflowing here. :) Have a good day for travel. 57 degrees and suppose to get some showers.

If you would like to read about early milk delivery, here is a link, www.streetsofsalem.com/tag/massachusetts/page/6 Mike sent me a photo link and when I went to investigate further found this page that not only has early milking delivery but other interesting history as well, printing on fabric, corsets, gardening, houses, fascinating stuff. Enjoy. (thanks again Mike.)

Good morning Janet, Ron and Elaine,
Its 46 degrees here and its raining. I will not complain. Ron and Elaine have a safe drive. A new adventure for you both.
Janet, I bought an old oak icebox. I have wanted one for years. I'm going to put ice in it and see what it does. All the critters are doing good. Everyone have a great day.

Good morning Victoria. Would love to see your oak icebox. It's just amazing to me how folks got by using some of the earlier appliances. Much work if you had to go gather, chop/cut the ice from lake, river, pond to put in icebox. Let us know how it goes Victoria. Annabelle been bred yet or is she still too young. I will have to go back and check. You have a great day!

Oh, raining here too. Two nice heavy showers with much lightning. Looks like it could do some more. Does Annabelle's coat still have the "coat of many colors" appearance? Would love to see current photos of her again Victoria. Have a good one! I know everyone is busy, but it's nice to see updates. :)

Good morning Ron, Janet, and Victoria!!!! Janet, where did you get the photo of the little girl milking? So sweet!!! I wish the photo I have of my father milking Ole Red when he was five had the same clarity.

Lovely, sunny weather here in N. Idaho. On my way to town last night, I noticed that Charlene's new barn cupola stands tall on the horizon in a certain spot in the road as you whiz by. But last night there were two cupolas and then one of them suddenly grew taller and moved toward the middle cupola--it was someone crawling to the peak of the roof and then standing up.

Charlene, your new barn is amazing up there on your hill--a feast for farmgirl aesthetics that I get to see every time I go to town. Also, while in town last night, I ate my first ever Humble burger. Very good!

Good morning MaryJane! The little girl milking photo is another from many from the Photogrammar collection that Mike gave me the site link for. She is as cute as they come. Oh how I remember the dresses with tie-backs that you tied in a bow. (if they became loose and you flushed the toilet one would catch hold and pull you in, going to be swallowed up.) Kinda like apron strings. :) Charlene's barn sounds beautiful. Enjoy your day!

Or a hand-hold for that monster lurking in the outhouse.

I always think somethings lurking just right under the lid of the outhouse. Lol. I doubt I ever get over that. Oh well, keeps one on the alert.

Or how about those monsters lurking under the bed, requiring a running leap from across the room?

Yes, and then, don't forget the closet. Always have them check the closet, they're in the room already so just as well be sure. :)

hello! texas farmgirl MIA back in action!

first, lovely fall weather decided to go to 85 degrees with substantial humidity today - ugh. i got spoiled with all those 55 degree mornings lately and had started wearing a light flannel shirt... so today sweated my little patootie off milking salpal.

second, some photos of the girls so mary jane doesn't believe i kidnapped them and will never post updated. elsa is doing good with the bar bar a, and does miss sally o'mally look fat mary jane? enjoying too much pasture? no bloat, everyone is healthy, active and happy so not sure but she just looks larger to me.

finally, i just can't tell you how much i am enjoying these girls daily. its really a lot of fun, and a lot of love. everything else in life is sliding a bit now to enjoy and bond with the girls. loving it all.

Cindy,
I didn't see the halter at first, the colors were close. I had an image of Elsa with an earing...pierced ears!

Don't forget the stick in the outhouse to knock the frozen stalagmite over as it creeps ever taller in the winter..... Poke!!

Only thing we had was a Black Widow spider unter the outhouse seat. Glad no one got bit before she got smooshed.....

mike, lover boy wants to make sure you know that we are open minded here on the farmstead - if little calves want piercings we can accommodate that ;>

and janet and mary jane, i have to be honest and tell you that if lover boy is away for the evening i really do open and review every closet and room before going to bed just to make sure there isn't something lurking in there that might get me in the night.... prob watched too many horror movies growing up.

Your Icebox is really beautiful Victoria. I'm anxious to here how well it holds the ice and keeps your icebox cool. Thank you for sharing. I love antiques and the history behind them. Keep us posted.

Beautiful icebox Victoria!!!!! Noticed also your vintage mixer, hand-crank juicer, round wooden clothes dryer, and antique-style curtains. An adorable and inviting, homey kitchen.
