I did a fun thing with my outside cow-trough gardens this year; I planted them to flower bulbs last fall (all except three that have garlic). For something like 10 years, I've used them for food crops like potatoes or garlic, but this year I gave in to my love of flowers--the kind I can't grow because voles eat the bulbs (they don't eat daffodil bulbs but they sure do love tulips).
