Good morning! I hope everyone enjoys their longest day of the year. The weather here has been perfect the last few days.

Cindy, it looks like you're about to make news and landfall. Thank you for your lemon reassurances. Here are a couple that are starting to turn yellow. I've eaten about a dozen limes so far--these will be my first lemons.

I somehow managed to repot both my trees and keep the fruit and blooms on them last week. Do yours have wicked spines/thorns on them? My forearms were punctured and bleeding in several places by the time I was done. Nastier than roses, those things. I suppose it's good predator prevention.

I just looked at the website and I guess they have lowered the price, instead of on sale. Here is the link to the one like our, but smaller.

Darla, we have a Lowe's about 45 minutes from here. Thanks for more details. I will see if it's still on sale.

Another hot day. Went out and fed in my flipflops. When it's to hot to put my boots on, it's hot. 98 a 7:30 this evening. Was hopeful this morning as there was a nice breeze, but it shut off. Tomorrows a.m. low is only 78. High of 107 forecast:( Lost another hen due to this heat, darn it. Have the fan on them and hope to keep them as well as possible.

Cindy, hope you do not have any issues with the coming storm. I know you have mentioned the humidity where you are. I spent two weeks in Houston and was sticky the whole time. Don't know what is going on here, but it is sticky. I'm not typically a sweater, but this has been aweful.

Mary Jane, The BBQ I bought for Tom was from Lowe's. Don't know if you have one local, but they are now on sale. $70.00 off the one I just bought. Just my luck. The 4 burner like I bought is on sale for $150.00.

As for the Meyer Lemon, Yes they have some of the longest, sharpest, nasty thorns I have seen. My Pomegranates have some nasty one's as well. "Safe Haven" for out little feathered friends from predators. Maybe?

Did some more old post reading today. Was laughing at Ron's old post under Milk Maid Fashion about wearing Pearls and Polish. Too Funny.

Ginger's Post about the old family dairy is so special. What great memories to share.

Hope you all have a restful evening.

Lemons look luscious! Say 3 times ;).
Cindy, I have been watching the news today keeping up with the storm.
Looks like you will get rain.
We are hot and dry in the hill country.

We are having a 3 year old jersey bull processed on Monday for ground meat.
Would you guys have the carcass aged? If so, how many weeks?

good morning miss maryjane, and all you ladies late to the party this morning!

ah, the lemons are turning... don't you love when nature knows what it is doing? sometimes they get about 80% yellow and then seem to sit there a bit longer than i like, but they always "do it right" and come bright yellow. so lovely. but, yes, not the thorns. funny thing is i have some years with lots of thorns and some not, so not sure why.

i also love the crochet throw, shawl or table topper you have behind it, very pretty. nice color as well.

i am wreaking havoc in the gulf ladies, and hurricane cindy will be hitting east texas tomorrow. we are expecting hurricane force winds, at least light ones, so are battering down the hatches tonight. the pleasant side of it is that it has pushed some of the heat and humidity out - this morning was downright lovely to walk outside. unfortunately, i pulled an all nighter for work so just went back to bed at 5am-7am and don't have the time to sit outside and enjoy the weather.

wishing cooler temps for everyone, especially darla in ca. that central california weather is brutal. lover boy's dad lives in sanger, about 2-3 hours south east of darla and he is also having massive heat.

mom is doing well, looks like we may have sold that extra house (!), so things are going just spiffy this week ladies. pugs, chickens and cows are happy as can be, and since i worked all night i went ahead and skipped milking this morning and put tiggy out on bea first thing. one happy calf!

have a GREAT day ladies, stay cool!
