I found this on YouTube and found it very interesting and informative for both sides. Search for Raw Milk Debate - February 16, 2012. It is a debate with four panelists, two are pro-raw milk and two are raw milk opponents. The panelists included: Sally Fallon, President of the Weston A Price Foundation; David Gumpert, journalist and author of The Raw Milk Revolution; Fred Pritzker, a lawyer who litigates again raw milk farmers; and Heidi Kassenberg of the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Hopefully, it can be another source of information for each of us to make the best possible decision for our families.

I think bacteria strains have changed because of the conditions of commercial dairies. Personally, my kids do better with raw milk.

Passions run deep on raw milk vs. pasteurized milk. I drink it raw here, but I'm not kid. I think more plays into it than just the raw milk. Perhaps a weak immune system, or poor hygiene or even excellent hygiene. (bacteria can find a way). I believe myself, if I had young children I would definitely, at least thermize my milk. Children are just starting out. And no matter what my personal view on raw milk, I think I would feel better knowing I may have cut down some possibilities of making my children ill. It's not hard to thermize milk but it takes time. But if it could keep a little one from getting ill, I believe that's worth the time and what I would do personally. Like I said, I drink raw milk myself.

Either side you gravitate towards, it is not to be taken lightly. Thank you for this article.

Bacteria strains have changed. Here's an article that talks about that. I've been following Kylee's story from the beginning. It's a long article to wade through but it covers everything I think a person should want to know about raw milk. Even the comments at the end (the two different camps) are educational--people are certainly passionate about their beliefs!

We choose to use it raw. God created the cows and their milk and He didn't instruct anyone to pasteurize. People drank raw milk for millennia without issue. The problems started with industrialization.

get Mary Jane's 2014 cow book - she goes into detail on how she does the low temperature pasteurization and why she does it. gives you all the info you need. the book itself is a wealth of info, and it is absolutely gorgeous too! even if I am too tired to read I pick it up every so often to gaze at the gorgeous photos.

I recently read an article about a farm that is using a very non invasive
Method to pasteurize that heats the milk slow to the right temp. It seems to me if I ever do pasteurize that will be the way to go. I think it might have been Acres mag.

we do exclusively raw milk, drive 1.5 hours each way to get it. We only go every 3 weeks and take 3 gallons home with us each time. We got to a Guernsey A2/A2 dairy. After 1.5 years on raw milk I am off all medication and my auto immune disease symptoms are gone 99% - I won't say I am cured, but well on my way and look forward to seeing how my health is in another few years. living in Texas we can buy raw milk on farm from a state licensed raw milk dairy.

if you start reading about conventional milk, eventually you realize that it isn't really milk - it is a disgusting milk by-product that instead of having clean quarters and healthy cows they do whatever they need to do and then pasteurize it to remove the ick... conventional milk is really a "processed food" - after reading that somewhere, just recently, it really hit home for me. and I am not some wacked out liberal environmental weirdo - just a strong constitutionalist that wants to have raw milk if I want it, and to live in the country and raise my own food.

Wow Liz , and here I complain when I can not take it to the store anymore but can do sales off the farm only. Just not allowed to bottle it though.

We always have raw milk from our cows. I don't know if I would want to BUY raw milk though, unless I was very comfortable with the procedures at the farm it came from. But then I've seen some messy commercial milking sheds (as in cow poo on the floor disgusting) and the farmers drink the milk and never get sick from it. Anyway, its illegal to sell raw milk in all states of Australia, which does make it difficult for us when we have peak production and its considered a dangerous substance that can't leave our farm! I would love to share with neighbours if I could.

This guy had an interesting take on the Harvard debate. It's worth reading! I watched the video quite some time ago and didn't feel like any of the three were terribly convincing.
